I’m just going to put it out there: I really don’t like the idea of the block for this new season of The Voice. I really hate that it takes power away from the contestants and once again makes the show all about the coaches.
But it’s preaching to the choir at this point.
A new sneak peek featuring the block being used was recently dropped on The Voice’s official Youtube page. In it, hopeful Britton Buchanan puts his spin on Ray LaMontagne’s Trouble. It’s a decent enough performance and earns him three turnarounds from the coaches, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Alicia Keys. But wait, if Britton had been planning to join Adam’s team, that option is no longer available to him because Blake used his block to stop him from going that way! Blake’s team for the win! /s
I think it’d be so funny if Britton doesn’t even go with Blake and picks Alicia out of spite for taking away the pairing he wanted.
